Our team for next winter season 24/25 starting 1st of September and ending 1st or 31st of May is already complete. Next option will be 25/26 season.
If you are a social person who enjoys working outside, have an interest in mushing/dogs and love meeting new people you may be the one we are looking for. Our positions are full time and paid work.
Arranging tours on sleds, usually from nov - end of April and 4-5 touring days per week.
You will get to know each of our dogs really well and probably bond closely with your favorites.
Excited guests listen to instructions.

SJUSJØEN HUSKY TOURS (LEIF TORE LIE)
Is a family owned business that consists of Leif Tore Lie and Ida Nilseng as well as 120 Alaska huskies. Our kennel is in Åsmarka, 25minutes driving from Lillehammer and 20 minutes from our touring location at Sjusjøen.
Our guests will experience steering their own team of 6 - 8 dogs after instruction given beforehand. Also, we are there in front in a leading sled. Tours are 6 - 30km. Bread twists and warm drinks are served after all tours. On 30km we also serve a warm meal prepared in our lavvu as well as for some groups/events.
It is very important for us that all our guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive and until they leave. Furthermore, it is just as important that all our dogs are healthy, happy, well trained and that they have perfect trails to work on.
During summer and autumn we also offer tours on wheels using troll carts and kennel visits.
Sjusjøen Husky Tours is certified as an Eco Lighthouse company that includes efforts and routines for safe work environments.
Working Duties
Your main duties will be as follows:
• Training adults dogs and puppies
• Keeping the dog yard clean and tidy
• Loading, unloading and transport dogs for touring days
• Making dogs and sleds ready
• Welcoming guests, give instructions and steer the leading sled
• Serving guests and be social with them
• Fixing trails, equipment
• Spend time with our small puppies
• Producing dog food
IF THIS LOOKS GOOD SO FAR AND YOU..
• have an interest in mushing
• are serviceminded and enjoy meeting new people
• have a strong working capacity and do not mind working in weekends and holiday when other people are off
• have a driving license, preferably also for trailers
• speak fluent English and perhaps more languages
• can handle stress
• have the ability to keep things tidy
